Study กับ Learn ใช้ไม่เหมือนกันนะ
คำกริยา Study กับ Learn ใช้ต่างกันดังนี้
1.) Study แปลว่า "ศึกษา เล่าเรียน เรียนหนังสือ" ... เช่น
1.1) เรียนวิชาต่างๆ ในโรงเรียนหรือมหาวิทยาลัย ... --> My sister studied Psychology when she was in Grade 12.
1.2) ศึกษาว่านกมันสร้างรังอย่างไร ... --> Dad, I cannot go out with you because I'm studying how the bird is building its nest.
2.) Learn แปลว่า "เรียนรู้" ... เช่น
2.1) เด็กเรียนรู้ที่จะเดิน ... --> Your son is learning to walk.
2.2) ฉันเรียนรู้ว่าแฟนฉันเขาไม่ชอบกินซุป ... --> I have learned that my boyfriend doesn't like soup.
3.) ใช้ Have class / V. to BE + in class ... เช่น
2.1) เช้านี้ฉันตื่นเช้าเพราะฉันต้องไปสอนหนังสือ (ในฐานะครู) ... --> I got up early this morning because I had class.
2.2) ฉันยังคุยโทรศัพท์ไม่ได้เพราะตอนนี้ฉันเรียนหนังสืออยู่ (อยู่ในชั้นเรียน) ... --> I cannot talk on the phone right now because I'm in class.
* หมายเหตุ: ควรรู้จักคำกริยาเพิ่มเติม คือ to take/have/do a lesson (s) ... เช่น
- She can sing very well without taking singing lessons. (หล่อนสามารถร้องเพลงได้เป็นอย่างดีโดยไม่ได้เรียนร้องเพลงเลย)
- Shall we do the lesson in the afternoon, instead? (เรานัดเรียนกันตอนช่วงบ่ายแทนจะดีมั้ย)
